Or just read last weeks Top Deal, Steals and Scores because it was the same headline…hmmm….
This is going to be really short and I am really sorry for that. But the stomach flu reared it’s ugly head at like 3 a.m. Sunday morning and it doesn’t seem to want to go away. I’m pretty much out of commission. Been too weak to even hold the computer. I think I’ve been awake a total of 5 hours in the last 24. Sucks. Still have a 100 degree fever. Sorry about the pity party but I hate being sick!
But there is a lot to look forward to when I do get better! Three game recaps, a Monday man of style. Maybe even a Sunday Funday on Monday if I can’t get it done today. Here’s hoping!
Top things you need to know
1. NFL Playoffs Recaps:
The AFC and NFC Championship match-ups are set for next weekend:
- Philadelphia Eagles vs. Arizona Cardinals: January 18 3:30 p.m.
- Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers: January 18 6:30 p.m.
How they got there:
- Philadelphia beat the N.Y. Giants: 23-11
- Arizona beat the Carolina Panthers: 33-13
- Baltimore beat the Tennessee Titans:13-10
- Pittsburgh Steelers beat San Diego Chargers: 35-24
I was 2-2 on my picks. But like I said, Sunday’s picks were fever-induced and I didn’t even know who was playing in the second game when I went to write the picks! I still wouldn’t have bet against the Giants because I’m not allowed to.
Things to talk about: Arizona’s win was shocking to everyone (well, except me!).
2. Florida wins BSC Championship Game
- 2a. Tim Tebow announces that he is being cool and staying in school. He will not head to the NFL this year.
Florida Gators defeated the Oklahoma Sooners 24-14.
Here is my recap and thoughts on the game: Long Live Gator Nation
3. Quick NBA Notes
- L.A. Lakers win their 30th game of the season against Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat with key free throws by Kobe Byrant at the end: 108-105
- Boston Celtics finally win a game. After their 19-game win streak, the proceeded to lose seven of their next 10 games. After losing 4 in a row, they won 94-88 over the Toronto Raptors with the help of Ray Allen who scored 36 points, including 8 three pointers!
- The L.A. Clippers lose their 11th game in a row, this time to the Phoenix Suns 109-103. Amusing that one L.A. team is so good, and the other is so bad.
And I’m really sorry but I have to go now. There are a lot of talks going on in the MLB baseball world. Here is my guest column for the week about the Baseball Free Agents.
And a lot going on in men’s college basketball as we start looking towards march madness. One quick note is that UNC Tar Heels just lost their second game. Before last week it was rumored that the Tar Heels would go undeafeated this season and now they have dropped two in a row in their ACC Conference games.
