Some of you know that when you are starting a website you are compulsive and neurotic about checking stats. And for those that don’t know, well, now you do. You are inundated with facts, figures, search results, graphs, charts and they are soooo addicting to update!
But, by far, my favorite part of stat updates is looking at my Search Terms results because they can be downright funny. (In non-Web Geek speak, everytime someone comes to this site from Google or a search engine, it tells me how they found Stiletto Sports by what they typed in Google. If you want more explanation, um, ask Mike, he deals with all that stuff).
Sometimes people are looking for answers to specific questions or live updates on the big games. Oddly enough, some people came to me for NFL Playoff picks. That’s just scary. But hey, I am doing good with my picks! Other times the “googles” (yup, making that up), are just freaking funny.
I like to think of my Search Terms Results as an unofficial Ask Stiletto Sports Jen forum (I also think of my kitchen as Head Chef Jennifer’s 5-star Top Chef Kitchen). And like any good advice columnist, I’m here to help!
The Ask Stiletto Sports Forum is now here to help answer all of your burning questions! Or at least find the answers to the googles! Later today I’ll post the “forums” for football, baseball, basketball, and for any other sports trivia that I have been “asked.”
First, in honor of Thankful Thursday, I give you my personal favorites that keep me entertained!
My Fave Five Googles:
- #5: Chelsea Sullenburger and Chelsey Sullenburger I had a different one picked until I saw my results. It’s my #1 and #2 Googled phrase. Why is my favorite? Because I had spelled his first and last name wrong in my original article and it amused me to see how many other people did too! Sorry Captain Chelsey B. Sullenberger!
- #4 “Kevin Costner promised father four baseball movies” So that’s why he made so many of them! Check out My Observations on Sports-Themed Movies for info.
- #3 “Random information about football that no one needs to know” I think it’s safe to say they found what they were looking for here.
- #2 “Girls are like baseball” Actually, I’d like to read the article they were looking for!
- #1 “Cinderella” & “Bibbidy Boppitty Boo” You seriously have no idea how happy I was to read those results. Once a Disney Princess girl, always a Disney Princess girl!

- “Jimmy Dolan Shake and Bake” I thought I was the only person who still remembered The Air Up There!
- Tim Tebow’s Muscles Oh yeah! They are hot! That’s why he was my SportsMan of Style
- Strawberry Shortcake Dickie V I was a BIG Strawberry Shortcake fan and I don’t remember Dickie V being on it. Haha! Actually, I think he was the Peculiar Purple Pie Man of Porcupine Peak
- Sam Bradford and the flu Ironic because I actually had the flu the day this was googled. I like knowing my love Sam Bradford was sick with me!
- Donnie Nickie Because I have absolutely no idea who this is so I know I can’t figure out how they found my site with this search!

What is Sunday Funday?
Jen: Um. Think that one’s pretty self-explanatory but I’ll try. It’s having fun. On Sunday.
According to The Urban Dictionary it is
“A made up holiday to give 20-something an excuse to get smashing drunk… by celebrating the “Sunday Funday” you can extend your weekend festivities just a little longer before hanging up your party pants. This day typically starts out with mimosas or bloody marys aka hair of the dog. It then typically continues through out the day until you find yourself wasted by about 6:30ish. Since the “Funday” ends early enough, you can rest assured that you will go to bed aka pass out early enough to be perfectly refreshed for work on Monday morning”
Which is crap because no one is after refreshed on Monday morning after a Sunday Funday!
