Gosh I hope so.

I apologize profusely to all my loyal readers for my spotty posting and unreliability over the last few months. And I am even more sorry that The Complete Girl’s Guide to Football EBook is still not up for everyone that requested it. It is done, it’s just awaiting the editing and uploading stages, which has taken a lot longer than I had hoped.

will returnAs for me, when I first started Stiletto Sports, just about  a year ago to the day, I had no idea how successful it would become—or at least how quickly it would be a bit hit. Don’t get me wrong, that’s amazing! Most blogs start and fail instantly (believe me, I know, I have a few others that crashed before taking off!). The only problem was that I wasn’t ready for it.

When Stiletto Set Sports began, I knew very, very, very basic HTML. And my knowledge of PhotoShop was from aboot 10 years ago. I knew nothing of Themes, Wordpress, CSS, FTP, hosting, advertising, website layout & design…etc.  I  just knew how to write and how to edit. And I had a lot of random knowledge of sports and hundreds of “great ideas.”

Anyone that knows me (or knows a Leo-Virgo…) knows that I’m a perfectionist and hate delegating. I think I have to do it all and it’s never good enough. So yes I had help on the back end of the site, but that didn’t set well with me. I had to learn all of that stuff.

And, on top of coming up with dozens of  ideas and learning all the behind the scenes technical stuff, I had to immerse myself in sports knowledge. Yes, I know football and basketball and baseball. It’s a whole other ball game to try to break it down for someone else. And that’s just the Big 3. I never even had a moment for hockey, soccer, tennis, golf, NASCAR & racing, MMA & fighting….. you get the idea.

So I worked 24/7. I never slept, never left the house, wore pajamas and would forget when I showered or ate. I barely talked to anyone except my cat…. But I don’t think I’ve ever been happier in my life! Unfortunately there’s only so long you can go on living that kind of life before crashing and burning and boy did I! When the madness of March ended, it felt like I had run straight on into a brick wall. Repeatedly.

Around the same time I realized that Stiletto Sports was a Herculean task. I would need a staff of at least a half dozen to make all my ideas come to light. And any time I get super overwhelmed and super stressed, my body will shut me down. Which is exactly what happened.

Ever have a To-Do list with over a hundred things on it? It looks so overwhelming and scary. You have no idea where to even begin, which frustrates you even further and makes it even harder to accomplish….anything. That’s been my last few months. Anytime I sat down to even write one post, I would be bombarded with a million things that I coulda/woulda/shoulda done or things that needed to be fixed, or more posts to write or things to research or images to find or comments to leave……..

Now, add to that: a whole lot of personal, emotional stress and the need to take on a new full-time day job.

Then sporting event after event came and passed me by: Triple Crown, British & US Open, Wimbledon, NBA Finals, Indy 500….and I became more anxious about not posting. Then football season was here. And then, the World Series. How did the entire baseball season pass me by? It greatly alarmed me that I did nothing for the baseball playoffs, especially considering that’s how this site began: with a few guest posts about the ‘08 ACLS/NCLS and Fall Classic.

So….that is why I stopped posting. Not trying to make excuses or anything. It is what it is. I just wanted everyone to know why all of a sudden, I went away!

Creatively, I have never stopped producing for the site. Every day I have dozens of awesome ideas: from blog posts to EZines, Stiletto Sports Product Line to EBooks. And I have them all scribbled down all over the house.

I will be back! I’ve been saying “hopefully this week” for months now, but I think I found a way for it to not be so consuming and overwhelming. I truly miss it. Every little thing about it: from creating graphics, the flow of the words, the random sports knowledge I’ve absorbed, creating websites and learning the intricacies and especially… the people I’ve met online via comments, sites & twitter….all of it!

Thanks for staying loyal and staying in touch!
