It’s that time of year again! Time to count down the best sports commercials and top sports moments of 2009!

Last year, the Best Sports Commercials of 2008 covered everything from the hysterical  Hockey Fans Being Unlike Any Other Fans and ESPN’s This is SportsCenter ‘08 collection to the moving MLB’s “There’s Only One October” series and Michael Jordan’s “Be Legendary” Series

For the 2009 Top Commercial Countdown, the funny commercials are even funnier and the moving commercials are even more inspirational. From now until 2010, every day we’ll bring you a new sports moment and new sports commercial until the countdown reaches #1!

Have a commercial or moment you’d like to see on the countdown? Leave me a comment below or send me a tweet @StilettoSportsJ! It’s not too late to change my mind!

———————————————————————————-

The #8 spot for Best Sports Commercial goes to the Super Bowl XLIII Ads: Lizard Lake and NFL Super Ad “Usama Young.” Normally Super Bowl commericals rank higher on best of lists but they were up against some serious competition.

Usama Young Super Ad

Dozens of NFL hopefuls tried out and sent auditions in hoping to be “in the Super Bowl.”…ad, that is! Usama Young from the New Orleans Saints was picked and this ad features Usama and his father. Very touching story. And now, Usama’s Saints are having a rocking regular season and Usama stands a good chance of really being in the actual Super Bowl this year!

Lizard Lake

What’s not to love about a bunch of NFL players dressed as ballerinas twirling around with a bunch of Sobe lizards? Lizard Lake featured NFL players Ray Lewis, Justin Tuck, and Matt Light in skin tight white leotards pirouette-ing and plié-ing all over the place! Hysterical! The only major WTF about this commercial was that during the Super Bowl, the ad was actually in 3-D…… but no one really knew. Big waste of special effects money. It really doesn’t need anything more. I mean, like I said, football guys doing ballet! With dancing lizards! That’s enough for anyone!

Remember to check back for the #7 Sports Commercial of 2009 and don’t forget to read the Top Sports Moments of 2009 Countdown too!
