The #5 spot on the Top Sports Commericals of 2009 Countdown goes to the NHLPlayoffs on VERSUS series. All of the ads in this series are suprisingly moving and very powerful. They kinda resound inside you. If I had seen them during the season, they would have convinced me to to tune into the playoffs. The central theme is “377,999 Seconds. Don’t miss a single one”

My three favorite commercials in the NHL Playoffs Series are:

One Second

“It takes 6 months to make the playoffs. It takes 12 days to make it to Game 7. It takes 60 minutes to make it to overtime. It takes one second to make history.”

Every Moment

Amazing montage of NFL playoff footage

Look Up

A brief 30 second ad that is very powerful. Every second features a different player or coach looking up, beating in time to the ticking second. “In the playoffs, the clock is everybody’s opponent. 377,999 seconds. Don’t miss a single one”
