The #6 spot on the Top Sports Commericals of 2009 Countdown has to go to NFL Monday Night Football Ads! This series of ads is hysterical. All of them feature major cases of the Mondays and the woes we all feel come late, late
Sunday night: the dreaded alarm clock, the annoying co-workers, the return to your hellish job….. but wait! It’s Monday! That means, Monday Night Football! And the world is right again!
Because these are hosted on YouTube by ESPN, only a view are available to be embedded on other sites such as this one. But you can click on any link and it will take you to the commerical. I highly recommend “Alarm Clocks” which features a guy dreaming about rocking out on a “keytar” (you know, the guitars with keys….) with….wait for it…… M.C. Hammer.
- Adrian Peterson: “Monday. The first day of training camp. Back to being hit with all the stresses at work.”
- Is it Monday Yet? “Monday. The longest day of the week…..”
- You Ask Yourself : “Monday. The day you begin to think to yourself ‘this is the worst job I have ever had”
- This Guy : “Monday. Back to spending a full 8 hours with people you wouldn’t normally spend 8 seconds with. Like, this guy:”
- Alarm Clocks : Featuring mad keytaring skills and M.C. Hammer
MNF: Monday, First Day of Training Camp, Adrian Peterson
MNF: Is it Monday Yet?
“Monday. The longest day of the week which gives you time to reflect on how you got fired from your last job. And the job before that….. and the one before that……”
The commercial goes through some pretty dulldrum jobs, and ends with the guy fantasizing about coaching Tom Brady. Best line come from the “coach” as he rocks a cut-off sweatshirt on the sideline while coaching: “I cut the sleeves off because it looks awesome. Get your head back in the game!”
