Since I couldn’t shoot up to New York to see the Yankees home opener at their brand-spanking-new stadium, I sent my buddy Stiletto Sports Special Correspondent, Chris to capture some great footage.
Well, okay….so really, he was going to the home opener for his own pleasure and he put his pics on Facebook so I poached them! But details, details…I prefer to think of him as on on-scene correspondent much like Erik was with his March Madness Final Four coverage from Detroit.
Either way, the pictures are fantastic!
The game, on the other hand, not so much. Yankees lost 10-2. Not exactly like the original Yankees Stadium Opening Day in 1923, was it?

I’m glad that I wasn’t at the first game, but I’m really jealous, I need to figure out a way to get to Yankee Stadium this season.

the picture that you have is NOT of Jim “Catfish” Hunters original locker, Rather it is Thurman Munson’s Locker.
Thurman Munson wore # 15 which has been retired by yankees and his famous picture is on the plague on the floor over there.

ooooh thank you! I was given that direct quote from the photographer who corrected me and said it was not “just a locker”
I can’t wait to yell at him!
