First rule of football watching fashion, leave the Bling-Bling to the football players and their wives. If you want to have a little sparkle or glitter, keep it classy not flashy.

This season’s jewelry trends feature bright colors, bangles, feathers and of course, animal inspirations. All are perfect for game day!

what to wear:

  • Big, bold, pops of  color using your teams signature colors.
  • Whimsical pieces like a Lion, Tiger or Bear pendant to show love for your team’s mascot
  • Bangles, the more the better. That way when you are doing the wave and cheering, it adds more noise and volume to your cheer!
  • Avoid rings. When clapping your fingers will swell up a bit and make them uncomfortable

In case you missed the hottest hair trend since flowers in the hair (aka last year), don’t worry, there is still time to rock it this fall.

Feather extensions and feather clips have been all the rage and we are loving it! A little feather accent in your hair in your team’s color is the perfect way to show Team Spirit! Keep your hair in a low maintenance, casual style and use headbands, feathers and hair accessories in your team colors!

Forget baseball caps for ball games! Instead, find a snuggly hat with a crocheted flower, a colorfully striped beanie hat, embellished head wraps, funky ear muffs or make your own signature head warmer! Keep the heat and fashion in and the cold and bad hair days out!

The Soft Cap

You know how excited you get in when the first day of spring rolls around and you can wear flip flops? Well, start looking forward to the first day of fall so you can wrap yourself up in scarves!

From ruffly and girly to thick, warm and woven, you can’t go wrong with a scarf on game day. It will keep you warm in the chill and make your look stand out in the crowd.

Finding the right bag is almost as important as finding the right outfit. Don’t lie. You know there are times you’ve built a whole outfit around the bag you wanted to wear that day!

The problem with tailgating and game day is that its adds an increased risk of theft so you need to keep your bag close at hand. And since games last for-ev-er, you need a big carryall to make sure you have everything you need! But you do not want to be lugging that around all day.

This seasons top looks in bags are PERFECT for game day! The Cross-Body bag is back in style as is the cross-over/conversion bag (you know, the ones that go from a tote to a cross-body to an evening look with a change of strap). The strap keeps the bag on you at all times and the added compartments and catchalls allow you to pack it full of all your daily necessities without being totally bogged down!

Beware of cloth totes. They always seem like a good idea until you actually need something from the bag and it takes the entire game to find it!

Killer Cross-Over Body!
(forgive me for the basketball not football reference)

Checks Off, Hash Marks, Grids, and Plaids

Plaid is always huge for fall. It’s Back to Prep School Chic! This fall has gone mad about men’s fabrics and textiles also! Things like herringbone, houndstooth, and grey woolen flannel are popping up all over from capes and skirts to bags and shoes.

Like I said, we have your accessorizing covered from head to toe! Now, unfortunately, usually heels and tailgating = very bad idea. Lucky for us, flat boots and wedges are huge for fall!

But, if you happen to be watching the games indoors, well, then there is no reason that you can’t be fabulous while watching football!

The Wedge Busters

Go with a football or sports inspired look. Even the harness laced up styles look football chic. Or go with a bold color statement.

Tsubo, Sam Edelman, Jeffrey Campbell, Tory Burch

The Bootleg Pass
Flat, cowgirl, slouchy, knit, furry over the knee! So many styles to choose from, only 17 weekends to wear them all!

Fancy Footwork

I just couldn’t resist a few heels! If you are like me, sometimes you just can’t do flats! And just because you are watching football doesn’t mean your feet can’t be fabulous!

Keep heels minimal. Ankle bootie styles work best!

A couple other fun things to try are leg warmers, knee high socks with stripes on top and fashion tights. They’ll keep bare legs warm and elevate your look without trying too hard!

  1. Sam D Said,

I am wondering if you would be able to use the black/gold shoe image and work with me on making a shirt for my business team, the Steelettos? We are part of a concierge shoe and accessory business and I’d like to create a team tshirt….and I LOVE your items!

Signing Andrew Bogut Was A Win-Win Situation For The Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers’ signing of Andrew Bogut drew plenty of reactions from both sides of the fence but his veteran status makes him an asset on the court and the bench.

Reasons why baseball has bigger money power than football

Baseball attracts millions of spectators, and it makes the largest amounts of money throughout the world. It is the main hero of sports pages of American newspapers, one of the main characters of books and movies. The famous baseball player of the 1940s Joe DiMaggio was no less popular than his starry wife Marilyn Monroe was. Baseball is a […]
