Final Thoughts on the Final Four

I just realized that I did my Final Four Match-Ups right after the Elite 8 games last weekend but never went back to throw my two cents in. What can I say, it’s been a crazy week!

The Match-Ups are:

Tipping-off @ 6:07 p.m. #2 Michigan State- #1 UConn

Tipping off @ 8:47 p.m. #3 Villanova- #1 UNC

Michigan State-UConn

I’m going State, baby! My boy Erik is up there—look for him courtside because the bastard just got his tickets upgraded to floorseats—and he has really helped me to see all that is good with the boys in green. I’ve actually gone as far as to pick them as the 2009 NCAA Cinderella Team, even though they are a No. 2 seed from the Big 10.

I’ve always been a UConn fan but, Mich State, the city of Detroit and even the country, needs the Spartans to pull off the win in their down-and-out hometown. Plus, if they win and move on, I can almost hear the Disney Corp calling Tom Izzo and the Mich State powers that be to get the licensing contract for the movie.

Besides, they just took down the No. 1 seed in the tourney. UConn should be a piece of cake. Ooooh or a brownie!

Villanova-UNC

Going to Nova here. If they take down UNC and Mich State takes down UConn, this will be only the third time in history that a No. 1 seed did not make the tourney and that would make the Championship Game so much more interesting!

Plus Shelton and Mark wouldn’t really ever forgive me if I picked UNC. And if Mark could forgive ‘Nova for beating his Dukies, then I can do too!

Unfortunately, I am actually not going to be watching the games live! Gasp! I know, I know. But my March Madness buddy went to see the games live so I got talked into attending the season closing performance of the Sarasota Orchestra performing Beethovan’s First and Ninth Symphonies. Yeah, I know who goes to a freaking symphony during the Final Four!?

But I was lured away because I was told I get to wear a pretty sparkling ball gown!

Anyway, I’ll watch on DVR and recap the games ASAP!
