Dylan McDermott will top any list of mine, always, I adore him. If Patrick Demspey and Josh Jackson* didn’t exist, Dylan would probably be #1 on my list. He is hot and his eyes are electric. (*BTW did you know Josh almost joined Grey‘s? I didn’t know that! I seriously don’t think I could have handled both of them on the same show. I would die a happy woman). I will admit, I had no idea who Dominic Cooper was but after seeing him on the carpet I made it a point to find out. There is nothing better than a hot guy looking all scruffy in a perfect tux at a Red Carpet event. Yum. Daniel Craig was the epitomy of 007 style and class. You know how guys have their Princess Leia in a gold bikini fantasy? Well I have a James Bond 007 in a tux fantasy…..

Sean Penn was stylish, suave and the perfect leading man. Loved his ensemble. How could I not put Hugh Jackman on this list? Been in love with him since Someone Like You and thought he looked yummy great while he hosted. So okay, the picture of Patrick Dempsey (and so-called wife lady) is actually from the 2008 Oscars but I do not care. I can not have a top 5 hottie list without McDreamy on it.

The Fabulous Couples

The only reason Robert Downey, Jr didn’t make the top 5 list was because I put him here with the fab couples. He looked unbelievable! Been a fan of his forever–think I fell in love way back when he was in Heart & Souls and Only You. Gwen and Gavin always look amazing and I thought they were especially fab on the Vanity Fair Oscar Party Red Carpet. I can’t take my eyes off Gav even when he is toned down to showcase his fashionplate wifey. And, of course, the ultimate fab couple Brangelina. Looking at each other and laughing at how fabulous they are!

Robert Pattinson. In case you have been under a rock, Robbie here is also known as Edward Cullen from Twilight. I think my ears are still bleeding from the sounds of screams from Sunday night when he hit the carpet.

…that I don’t necessarily get. I will admit that Seth Rogan definitely looks better all cleaned up. Appreciate the effort. My issue with Zack Efron is just that he makes me feel old. Because I know if I was in the tween age I’d been falling all over myself for him but instead I feel nothing. Which means, I am old. Therefore, I do not like him for pointing out that fact to me. That is just mean. And Dev Patel. Proving the point that the suit makes the man and my concept that a suit can turn anyone into a someone. Well, sorta. Let’s me honest, if his movie wasn’t the talk of the Oscars no one would even pay attention to this little dude in a tux. He would just be a skinny, geeky 18 yr-old (19?) about to go to the prom.

I’ve actually seen Mickey Rourke on some best dressed lists commending his fashion sense and style. I have since unsubscribed to all of their RSS feeds. Seriously? Seriously?! This guy? Okay some can totally pull this look off and look way hot. Mickey is not one of them. He looks like he rolled out of bed and didn’t even wash his hair. It was beyond icky and just a huge attention getting ploy. Ick. Hot Mess Citation: Being a walking talking total hot mess swathed in white and trying to pretend you are not.

What a crazy week of awards! After spending all week on the Stiletto Sports Academy Awards I feel like I’m addicted to award stuff! I’ve already given you my fave highlights from the 81st Annual Academy Awards Red Carpet.

Now it’s time to to play fashion police and see those who didn’t quite make the Best Dressed list. Or as I (and Project Runway star Christian Syriano) like to call this list, The Hot Messes.

Contrary to some opinions, she did not make it work. No one could. Seriously. First, even though its deceptively simple in its muted palate and complimentary fabrics, there is just waaaaay too mcuh going on. Second, hello, what is up with the crotch bunching? Never, ever, ever a good idea.

I don’t even know where to start with this one.I think I shall rename this Aramani Southern Belle Gone Wrong or something. Okay one, I’m not even sure this would look good on a true young  blushing Southern Belle. So two, it definitely doesn’t look good on her. This is made for 16-yr-olds only. Where is my va-va-va-voom hot mama Sophia that I love so much?

*Sigh* This pains me so because j’adore SJP’s Dior dress which was really similar to this one. But for some reason this just doesn’t work for me, for you. Just too much going on. The belt cheapens the whole look instead of pulling it together. I know the 80s have  been back for awhile but there is something about the blue and black that just doesn’t settle with me. Looks like the 80s instead of the 2009 version of the 80s. Hate the necklace with it.  Next time she wants to rock a belt with a ball gown, she needs to call Miss SJP first!

Hot Mess Citation: Bad Posture Ruining a Stunning Gown on Stage

See the thing with this dress is that I bet walking on the red carpet it was fab! But her standing on the stage as if she was about to die, well, that didn’t do much for this gorgeous piece! She turned this lovelyh gown into a hot mess, which I didn’t think was possible–especially from Nic. She looks so miserable–like she can’t move in the dress or would have to shuffle out like a geisha girl. The whole time she was on stage I kept thinking she looked all disheveled—the feathers looked like straps that had fallen down her arms. If she has just adjusted her posture, flexed her arms and cocked her head a bit I think this would have been in my top picks instead of my Hot Mess.

Hot Mess Citation: Pretending to be young enough to rock a Princess Cut gown

Ok, I’ve heard of dying your shoes to match your dress but dying your dress to match you hair? Probably not the best idea. This makes me want to hit her. I can’t explain why it just does. The cut is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too young for her. The sleeves give it that Princess feel– like it came from Enchanted. This so could have been a huge hit for her if it was a strapless full skirted ball gown. I know she is supposed be a bit hippy-dippy Boho but there are so many fab options in the style that she could have chosen.

Oh, and the necklace she’s wearing? Yeah, it’s a spider. Ew.

Hot Mess Citation: Improper Use of a Fab Accessory in a way that totally ruined a gorgeous designer gown.

I LOVE LOVE LOVED the necklace. I really couldn’t take my eyes off it all night. And I thought the dress was pretty cool too–something I’d actually like to own. But the two together? Oh hell no. They negated each other so badly that it ruined the whole thing for me. Too bad.

No. It’s Jess & Amanda in Big Scary Ass Bows. Was this their way of protesting that 27 Dresses wasn’t nominated because these look like really bad old school bridesmaid dresses. Seriously bad choices, ladies. Not flattering, modern or fashiony at all.

Best part is that someone must have told Jess she looked a hot mess because she showed up to the Vanity Fair party rocking this, um, improvement?

Oh wait, so your telling me her own company designed this for her? Wow. Seriously? Um, good job?  The dress is in no way or shape (pun intended) flattering. She looks uncomfortable, statuesque and statue-like. And the pattern? I don’t think Couture, I think Couch. Although I will admit, it would make a great Oscar Statue just as is, don’t you think?

Oh Heidi, Heidi Heidi…. she looked so proud and happy and she just gushed about how fab the dress was because she couldn’t even sit! Feel bad telling her that Judy Jetson’s been rocking that dress for decades!

Ah Angie….. No denying she is just drop-dead gorgeous. Even draped in black she manages to be radiant and sparkling. Could be the mega emerald drop earrings? I thought the dress was daring yet very classy and I thought it was perfect for her. The earrings however…shows that gemstones actually can be too big. Looked cheap and gaudy. Go figure

SJP was truly the belle of the ball in this Haute Couture gown. The only thing I can even say is j’adore Dior. I’m not always a fan of SJP’s fashion but I thought this was magnificent. And once again, the pics don’t do it justice. The detailing came into play as she walked the red carpet. I’m even a fan of the belt which somehow, managed to work although I have no idea how!

Anne Hathaway could wear a paper bag and still be a fashion icon and America’s Princess. But this dress really elevated that status. Forget the little girl in Princess Diaries or the poor shlump in Prada, welcome to Miss Hathaway. Glam, fab and all grown up. She truly sparkled in this divine gown.

Nominated: Best Actress for Rebecca Getting Married

Shoes: Casadei 1616 pumps in a custom silver tone.

This is my pick for best Oscar Gown. I thought it was simply perfect. I’m not a Miley fan in any way shape or form, but I may have to really reconsider because this dress was a total WOW. Definitely too old for her but that doesn’t take away from its sheer fabulousness.
